Mayor De Blasio Hits Campaign Trail In Iowa

Mayor Bill de Blasio is spending Friday campaigning in Iowa after announcing a run for president.

De Blasio has several scheduled stops before heading to South Carolina for more campaigning this weekend.

The mayor has already come under attack from President Trump, who released a video on Twitter.

“I can’t believe it.I just heard that the worst mayor in the history of New York City and without question the worst mayor in the United States is now running for president. It will never happen,” Trump said.

The president blasted de Blasio for high taxes and high crime and said the mayor should get back to New York City and do his job. The mayor was quick to respond with a video of his own, saying crime is down in the city.

“You obviously aren’t getting your facts straight.I really think you better rest up because you’re going to need it for the election ahead. We’re coming for you,” de Blasio said.

Mayor De Blasio is considered a long shot in the Democratic race, but he dismissed the low poll numbers. He’s the 24th Democrat to announce their candidacy.
