The campus of Fordham University is in mourning after a 22-year-old student fell from a tower on campus and later died.
Senior Sydney Monfries was inside the Keating Clock tower early Sunday morning taking pictures. At some point she fell 30-to-40 feet and was found on the ground with trauma to her head and body.
Monfries died later at St. Barnabas Hospital.
Students aren’t allowed in the tower and it’s unclear how Monfries was able to get inside. Campus officials are investigating.
Monfries was scheduled to graduate next month. She will now receive a posthumous degree.
