An alleged hazing incident that took place at Memorial High School in New Jersey has drawn the attention of parents and the West New York Board of Education.

The alleged incident that was posted to social media shows an underclassmen baseball player being bound, gagged and dragged across the diamond.

The Mayor of West New York, New Jersey, Feliz Rouge voiced his frustrations to the New York Post saying, "It's abhorrent to see this type of behavior in our school system."

School District Superintendent Clara Herrera issued a statement saying the district is committed to conducting a thorough investigation and pursuing disciplinary/corrective action if warranted.

The names of the students involved in the alleged hazing will not be released while an investigation is in progress.

The athletic director for Memorial High School declined to comment on the matter and asked that all questions on the situation be directed to the school district officials.
