Plot To Attack A NY Muslim Community Is Stopped

Charges are being filed against four people for allegedly making plans to attack a Muslim community in New York.

Greece Police say 20-year-old Brian Colaneri, 19-year-old Vincent Vetromile, 18-year-old Andrew Crysel and a 16-year-old are each charged with intent to use the explosive devices in a plot against the Muslim community near Binghamton.

They're also charged with one count of conspiracy and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Officers say they had multiple medium to large-sized cylinders and mason jars wrapped in duct tape that were explosive devices.

A student at the youngest suspect’s high school reported overhearing a threat. The police chief commented that “The kid that initially said something to an adult saved people’s lives and the lesson is, you tells kids this all the time, we say ‘If you see something, say something.’ You got to report it if you see something suspicious. The lesson is that it worked.”
