Ellis Island Will Host Gov. Cuomo's Third Inaugural Bash

In what appears to be another jab aimed at President Trump's immigration stance, Governor Andrew Cuomo will hold his third-term inaugural bash on Ellis Island.

Cuomo, who will be sworn in on New Year's Day told the New York Daily News, "In these stormy times, Ellis Island is an enduring symbol of who we are as a nation. The historic gateway to America reminds us of the core values that built our state and our country, and it will serve as a fitting location to launch a new term fighting for New Yorkers and the soul of this nation."

The governor added, "New York has always been a beacon of hope and opportunity, and today more than ever we are called upon to lead the way toward and set a progressive example for the rest of the country to follow."

Four years ago Governor Cuomo broke with tradition and moved his inauguration from Albany to NYC to accommodate his ill father, former NY Governor Mario Cuomo.
