A priest at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, called the police when he witnessed a couple having sex in a sacred garden on the church's property.
When the Police arrived at the Roman Catholic Church, Anthony Getchius and Noelle Smart were still getting it on right next to a Statue of the Virgin Mary between the church and the rectory.
Anthony Getchius, of Newark and Noelle Smart, of Jersey City were both charged with public lewdness and the arresting officers added creating a dangerous condition and obstructing the law charge to Mr. Getchius' rap sheet.
According to an article published in the Asbury Park Press, the couple was arrested and is being held in jail until a bail hearing can be scheduled.
Police records indicate that the priest suffered a slight eye irritation after viewing the couple in the act.
