Security cameras in an Upper East Side apartment building caught three thugs attempting to rob an 80-year-old woman Tuesday evening.
The video shows the elderly woman holding tight to her purse as she's knocked to the ground and roughed up.
The woman's struggles and yells for help were answered by her neighbor Alex Weiss. Weiss said when he opened his door and moved toward the suspects they ran out of the building.
Mr. Weiss stayed with his elderly neighbor until the police arrived on the scene.
The police are studying the surveillance film in an attempt to identify the three suspects.
