An accident at the corner of 28th Avenue and Ulmer Street in Flushing Queens sent a 35 year old police recruit to the hospital with a minor head injury this morning.
The 35-year-old female recruit was just a block away from the police academy when a large dump truck struck and dragged the woman a short distance.
The police recruit was rushed to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the dump truck did not stop at the scene of the accident; police believe the driver may not have known it hit the woman.
The police are trying to locate and question the driver of the truck.
