Primary Day in New York City

Voters will be heading to the polls in New York City on Tuesday, voting in a number of primaries, including for mayor.

Turnout is expected to be low, as there is little drama in the race.  Mayor Bill de Blasio is expected to easily win the Democratic nomination as he tries for a second term in office.  He’s being challenged by Sal Albanese, but polls show the mayor with a big lead in the race.

On the Republican side, state Assembly member Nicole Malliotakis is running unopposed.

Polls in New York City are open until 9 p.m.
