A 16-year-old boy had to have his face stitched back together after he was slashed while waiting on the R train platform Wednesday evening.
Witnesses say the teenager was standing alone when the suspect approached him and cut his face open from the top of his cheek to the point of his chin.
The victim ran from the subway platform to a nearby department store and asked for help.
The store staff called EMS and the victim was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for treatment.
The police investigating the crime said the victim is not cooperating with them and they believe the victim and the suspect know each other.
