62-year-old Roger Vail died yesterday when he fell 10 stories during an inspection of the Brookfield Properties development at 400 West 33rd Street.
Ironically, Mr. Vail was at the construction site working on a safety system that was designed to prevent accidents and falls.
The NYC Buildings Department issued a full stop-work order until the investigation of the tragedy was concluded.
Vail was remembered by coworkers as a good friend.
