Rubin went on to say the contract for the Mets biggest bat is the most ever for an outfielder and top annual salary ever for a non-pitcher.

Mets fans will be relieved after weeks of little news regarding Cespedes' negotiations with the Mets.
The outfielder had earlier this off-season opted out of his previous deal with New York to seek more money and a longer term deal in free agency.
Early reports said Cespedes was looking to sign elsewhere.
