Columnist E. Jean Carroll is claiming that Donald Trump sexually assaulted her in a Manhattan department store back in the 1990s. Initially saying that he had no idea who she is, President Trump is repeating that – and taking things a step further in denying her accusation: he says she's “not his type.”
“I’ll say it with great respect: Number one, she’s not my type,” he tells “The Hill.” “Number two, it never happened. It never happened, okay?” And when asked if Carroll was lying, Trump doubled down. “Totally lying. I don’t know anything about her,” he added. “I know nothing about this woman. I know nothing about her. She is — it’s just a terrible thing that people can make statements like that.”
What does Carroll have to say? That she “loves” that she’s “so glad I’m not his type.” In an interview with CNN, Carroll also says she isn’t surprised by his response. "He denies, he turns it around,” she added. “He threatens and he attacks." She went on to say that Trump has denied all the accusations from women who have accused him of sexual misconduct – at last check there were 15 – Carroll makes 16.
