The NYPD’s Stop of Salaam Was Not Racially Motivated

Len Berman and Michael Riedel talked with Joe Borell, Minority leader of the NY City Council and Representative of Staten Island's 51st District about the 'How many Stops' bill.

Borelli said the 'How Many Stops' bill, which was vetoed by Mayor Adams will be passed today if they have the votes, and it looks like they do. The bill is unnecessary because every officer has a body camera that records every interaction between police and the public."

"You saw how the stop of Councilman Yusef Salaam was handled last night when he was stopped because the windows in his car were tinted too dark for NYC laws. The officer's body cam showed the officers were polite and professional during the stop and Mr. Salaam was sent on his way without issues."
