Will Congestion Pricing Kill Broadway?

Len Berman and Michael Riedel talked with Cristyne Nicholas, Chairwoman of the Broadway Association, about the effect congestion pricing will have on theatergoers.

Len Berman asked Nicholas to explain what congestion pricing would do to theatergoers, and does she think it's a bad idea.

Nicholas said, "I don't think it's a bad idea but the way it's been implemented, and the timing are terrible. "The city isn't ready for people to be charged more fees, NYC isn't ready, it's still feeling the lag from the pandemic."

"If the city had implemented the idea five years ago when it was first debated, people would be used to it by now, said Nicholas."

Congestion pricing is set to start this Spring.
