Mayor Bill de Blasio says before New Yorkers travel or attend holiday gatherings in the next few weeks, they should get a COVID test.
“Get tested before you attend major gatherings or family gatherings. Get tested, because you'll know you're safe. You'll know what's going on,” de Blasio said.
He said getting vaccinated is the first thing you should do, but added that getting tested is also smart. With travel increasing, he said a negative test will ensure that everyone is safe.
“We need you to get tested before you see your families and friends. So, that you don't risk getting a family member sick that could get very sick from COVID this year for the holidays,” Ted Long with NYC Test & Trace Corps said.
