New Jersey Teen Accepted To Seven Ivy League Schools

Getting into one Ivy League school is something to celebrate, but one New Jersey teen has taken that to the next level. David Odekunle has been accepted by a total of 15 universities and seven of them are Ivy League schools!

The high school senior grew up in Nigeria and briefly lived in Scotland before his family moved to Bloomfield. David says he faced many challenges in Nigeria and he’s used his experiences to help him achieve his goals in America. His parents also helped motivate his drive, both of them became doctors after moving to New Jersey. And his brother Emmanuel was also accepted into multiple Ivy League colleges two years ago.

With options including Princeton, Yale and Dartmouth, David is still deciding where he’ll be going in the fall, but he does know that he wants to study biology and follow in his parent’s footsteps to become a doctor. His advice to others applying to the most elite colleges in the country? Be authentic and show your true self. He explains, “There is no certain mold one needs to fit, but as long as one is committed and staying true to oneself, then one can have the best chances of being accepted into great universities.”
