NY National Guard Copter Crash Kills Three

Three members of the National Guard are dead after their helicopter crashed in Upstate New York.

The soldiers were on a training mission last night when the aircraft went down in Mendon, about 20 miles from Rochester. Reports say witnesses heard the engine sputter as it flew unusually low.

The names of the soldiers haven't been released yet, but Governor Andrew Cuomo says flags around the state will be lowered to half-staff today in their honor. Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the accident.
