NYG 23 WAS 20: Another Wash QB, Another Gruesome Injury

They may have buried the team name the Redskins but—at this point—I’m not sure the team isn’t playing on an ancient Native American burial ground—because the position of QB on that team is cursed.

Case in point meet the new starter—same as the old starter Alex Smith who missed all of last season while rehabbing his leg after a gruesome injury.

Yeah but the reason he won the job back was he came in for the teams current starter, Kyle Allen, and nearly brought back the Redskins from a 20-3 second half deficit going 24 of 32 for 325 yards and a TD.

I mean he did throw three INT’s—including this costly one late that ended any hopes the tam had of completing the comeback—but it’s not like they can give the job back to Allen because he left the game with—you guessed it—a gruesome ankle dislocation.

Funny thing is it was Washington head coach Ron Rivera who said just this week that he had not given up on last year’s first round draft pick Dwayne Haskins who has been benched since Week 5.

He will serve as Smith's backup.

And then this offseason something tells me he will serve as Rivera’s trade bait.
