De Blasio: Don’t Go On Subway If You’re Sick

Mayor Bill de Blasio is issuing a warning about mass transit, as the coronavirus outbreak continues to grow.

“If you’re sick, you shouldn’t be going on the subway,” de Blasio said.

He encouraged people to avoid public events and to stay home from work if they’re not feeling well. More than 100 people have cases of the coronavirus in New York state, including 16 in the city.

Governor Andrew Cuomo said he’s not shutting down the subway system, but did offer a piece of advice.

“If you see a packed train car, let it go by.Wait for the next train,” Cuomo said.
