Judge's Ruling To Fire Cop In Garner Case Now Goes To Commissioner O'Neil

A ruling from NYPD Commissioner of Trials Rosemarie Maldonado came down this morning in the Daniel Pantaleo case. Maldonado decided that Officer Pantaleo should be fired for his part in the death of Eric Garner.

The verdict from Maldonado will now go to the Civilian Complaint Review Board which will have two weeks to submit their case to NYPD Commissioner James O'Neil. Pantaleo's lawyer, Stuart London will also have two weeks to present his defense of Pantaleo to O'Neil. The commissioner will then decide to agree with Maldonado's ruling or overrule the verdict.

According to an article published in the New York Post, law enforcement sources believe that Commissioner O'Neil will likely go along with the judge's ruling and fire Officer Pantaleo.

The Civilian Complaint Review Board released a statement that read, the evidence presented by prosecutors was more than sufficient to prove Pantaleo is unfit to serve.
