Police have shot and injured a suspect in Queens after he came at them with a knife.
This may have been an attempted suicide by cop.
Jerrell Davis, 34, allegedly slammed his car into an empty police cruiser at 215th Street and Northern Boulevard. He was naked from the waist down and exited his car. Davis then allegedly set fire to his own car and unsuccessfully tried to set fire to the police cruiser.
“The subject branded a knife and charged at the officers.Two officers discharged their firearms several times and struck the subject multiple times on his torso and his leg,” Chief of Patrol Rodney Harrison said.
A 12-inch kitchen knife was recovered.
