One man hoping to rent a bike in New York City got a shock as he approached the last rental on the rack. The only problem was, it looked like a sunken shipwreck.
Now, Citi Bike is hoping to solve the mystery of a barnacle-covered bike parked at a Manhattan docking station. It was covered in barnacles and rust and looked like it had just been fished out of the Hudson River. A filmmaker found it when he went to rent a bike over the weekend.
Citi Bike doesn't know how it got there, but says it's been 15-months since it was rented and the bike has been taken out of service.
