Construction Debris Hits Man Showering in Neighboring Building

The New York City Buildings Department is investigating an accident that saw a piece of construction debris get blown off one building and hit a man showering in the building next door.

The unidentified victim of the freak accident was showering in his sixth-floor apartment at around 8:45 p.m. when a piece of building material came crashing through his roof and hit him.

FDNY officials told the New York Post the 60-year-old man was not seriously injured and did not need to be taken to the hospital.

"It's a little scary to come home and see that many fire trucks parked outside of your building," said Carri Dolce, a resident of the second floor. "Thank God there were a lot of people who responded quickly, I'm also happy that I don't live on the sixth floor."
