New York City Marathon Crowns Winners

In the beginning, 50-thousand runners took to the streets of New York for the annual New York City Marathon, but in the end, Kenya’s Mary Keitany and Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia are the winners of the New York City Marathon.

Keitany dominated the woman's side, posting a time of two hours, 22-minutes and 48-seconds. This was Keitany's fourth win in five years in one of the world's premier distance events. Last year, she posted a second place finish in the New York City Marathon.

As for Desisa, he captured the men's title in a much tighter race, finishing just two seconds ahead of the second place finisher with a time of two hours, five minutes and 59 seconds. Like Keitany, Desisa also finished in second place at last year's event.
