Fireman Caught With Crack Arrested

Police officers working a crime scene at the corner of Glen Street and the West Shore Expressway in Staten Island arrested an off-duty firefighter after they found he had 8 vials of crack in his possession.

Firefighter Jonathan Carbone was arrested and taken into custody Tuesday night after police found him loitering in his car near an overdose crime scene.

According to an article published in the New York Daily News Carbone was issued an appearance ticket and will face charges in Staten Island criminal court on May 10.

Residents are concerned that the firefighter may have received preferential treatment because he was released without seeing a judge, which is standard procedure for controlled substance arrests.
