NJ Teen Charged in Quadruple Murder

A 16-year-old from New Jersey will be in court today to face murder charges after allegedly killing his family.

Scott Kologi is being charged as an adult in connection with the death of his father Steven, his mother Linda, his 18-year-old sister Brittany and 70-year-old family friend Mary Schultz at their home in Long Branch.

"At this point in time in our investigation, we believe it's alleged that a semi-automatic rifle was used,” Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni said.

The teen’s brother and grandfather were able to escape on the home on Wall Street unharmed.

Kologi is facing four counts of murder and a weapons charge.  It’s unclear what motivated him to allegedly carry out the attack.
