The Department of Buildings shut down a construction site this morning after a man was killed when a piece of metal fell 10 stories and hit him in the head.
Przemyskaw Krawczyk was standing in a tool shed beneath the work-site when the accident occurred.
Buildings Department spokesperson Joseph Soldevere said the construction site has been cited several times for code violations in the past and this accident appeared to be completely preventable.
When first responders got to the scene Mr. Krawczyk was unresponsive. The victim was rushed to Lenox Hill Hospital where he was pronounced dead an hour later.
