Christie: Giants Treatment of Manning Disgraceful

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is blasting the Giants decision to bench Eli Manning, ending his streak of 210 consecutive games started.

“I think that the manner in which this was handled and the manner in which Eli Manning is being treated by the Giants organization is disgraceful and I think Mr. Mara should be ashamed of himself for having signed off on this,” Christie said.

Giants owner John Mara admits he was onboard with the idea of sitting Manning.  He said he thought Manning would go along with a plan to start the game, only to have another quarterback come in later.

Christie also called Coach Ben McAdoo and General Manager Jerry Reese “incompetent.”
