Naysheen Rahman pleaded guilty to manslaughter and will serve 12 years in prison for throwing her hour's old daughter into a trash can outside of her home in 2016.
Healthcare workers notified authorities when Rahman sought help for excessive bleeding issues.
When the hospital staff questioned her about recently giving birth, Rahman lied and left the facility.
The dead infant was found in a trash can outside of the suspect's home the next day.
Medical records indicated the baby was alive at birth.
Ms. Rahman was reportedly attempting to hide her pregnancy from her parents.
