The final curtain has come down on the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
A final performance was held Sunday night at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island.
The circus faced protests by animal rights groups in recent years, which caused the circus to remove the elephants from performances. After doing so, ticket sales suffered.
Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey closed after 146 years of shows.
