Train Commute Could Be Tough on Tuesday

The Tuesday morning commute will be difficult for those taking the train into New York City.

Problems continue for NJ Transit after a minor derailment on Monday at Penn Station.  Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast service is running on a holiday schedule, while Midtown Direct service is being diverted to Hoboken.

Cross honoring is in effect.

Amtrak is operating a modified schedule on Tuesday because of reduced capacity.  The Long Island Rail Road has canceled and combined 14 trains during the morning commute.

Customers traveling into Penn Station are told to expect crowding and delays.
