Bodegas will close across New York City on Thursday to protest President Trump’s travel ban.
From noon until 8 p.m., about 1,000 bodegas owned by people from Yemen will shut down. Yemen is one of the seven countries impacted by the president’s travel restrictions.
There will also be a rally at Brooklyn Borough Hall on Thursday afternoon. Organizers say many of the business owners are directly impacted by the president’s travel ban.
