The sport known as 'Jallikattu'  aka 'Bull Taming' has been a tradition in the village of Tamil Nadu, India for years.

Jallikattu was banned by India's top court in 2014 on the grounds of animal cruelty.

The towns people of Tamil Nadu refused the court order and celebrated the harvest festival of Pongal with a rousing game of Jallikattu.

The rules of Jallikattu are simple. Angry, wild, bulls with razor sharp horns are released into a crowd of people.

The bulls weigh between 800 and 1000 pounds.

The person who can grab the bull by the horns and pull themselves aboard the beast wins.

This year 90 people were injured and two people were gored to death.
