The first major Democratic NYC mayoral debate took place Tuesday night on WABC. Just hours before the live TV debate, a new Quinnipiac University poll was released showing Bill de Blasio in first place among Democrats with 30 percent of the votes, moving ahead of Christine Quinn who came in second with 24 percent.
This; however, didn't stop the other candidates from focusing their attacks on Council Speaker Quinn. Even Anthony Weiner turned his personal scandal into an attack on Quinn. The most hotly debated topic of the night seemed to be the NYPD’s stop-and-frisk program along with the future of Police Commissioner Ray Kelly. De Blasio, Quinn, Weiner, Bill Thompson, and John Liu participated in Tuesday night's debate. You can watch WABC's recap of the debate below.
