UPDATE: The disabled NJ Transit train has been safely pulled back to Penn Station. All passengers on the train are safe and unharmed.
A NJ Transit train headed from New Brunswick, NJ to Penn Station in Manhattan became disabled Tuesday morning in the South Tube of the East Portal.
The train carrying 1,000 passengers is unable to move, and a rescue train was sent to haul the disabled train to Penn Station.
Three trains headed into the city were already backed to the Secaucus station, and more delays are to be expected going in and out of Penn Station.
