Two US Marshals and one NYPD detective were shot in the West Village Monday afternoon.
The officials were all members of the fugitive task force and were serving a warrant near West 4th and Jones Street.
The warrant was for the now-deceased suspect, Charles Mozdir, who was wanted for child molestation in Coronado, California. Mozdir has been wanted since June 2012 after he never showed up to a court appearance for sexually assaulting a boy he was babysitting.
All officers are expected to live with non life-threatening injuries. One was shot in the back and another was shot in the stomach, with all three being treated at Bellevue Hospital.
The suspect, who was an alleged sex-offender wanted in the state of California, was shot on the scene and pronounced dead.
