In Quinnipiac University's latest poll, Public Advocate Bill de Blasio has jumped into first place among Democratic candidates in the race for mayor. According to the poll released Tuesday, de Blasio leads with 30 percent of the votes from likely Democratic voters with Christine Quinn in second place at 24 percent. Bill Thompson came in third place with 22 percent and Anthony Weiner's slide down the polls continues as he garnered just 10 percent of the votes.

The poll results give de Blasio momentum going into the race’s first major mayoral debate Tuesday night. The poll results also showed de Blasio defeating Quinn, Thompson, and Weiner in potential run-offs with each candidate.
