(Max Rivlin-Nadler) A new video shows Avonte Oquendo, the 14-year-old autistic boy whose disappearance led to a city-wide manhunt that finally ended sadly this month, bolting out of his Long Island City school.

The video shows the doors remaining open for half-an-hour after an adult opened it as they exited. The door was opened on October 4th, at 12:07 P.M. and Avonte can be seen exiting at 12:38. Only three minutes later, a school safety officer closes the door. The footage has never been seen publicly.

Last week, Avonte's mother filed a suit against the Department of Education to release important document relating to Avonte's escape from his school. The DOE has so far refused to give up the documents, citing privacy concerns.
