The family of Joan Rivers confirms the legendary comedian is on life support.
In a brief statement, her daughter Melissa thanked the public for “all the love and support” they have received.
“I know my mother would be overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of kindness and I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers,” she said.
Rivers was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital last week after going into cardiac arrest while having a procedure on her vocal cords.
Sources told the Daily News that if Rivers pulls through, the rehab process could take months or even years.
Rivers was placed in a medically induced coma and doctors are still trying to assess the full scope of any damage caused when she stopped breathing.
