Governor Andrew Cuomo continues to hold a big lead in his bid for re-election.

He receives support from 59 percent of registered voters, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC 4 New York/Marist poll.

Republican Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino is 35 points back, with support from 24 percent of voters.

Even more troubling for Astorino is that Cuomo has a big lead among voters who should be part of the Republican base.

"Those are the folks Astorino is trying to build his campaign around, and he's not getting even those core voters at this point," said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion.

Astorino also remains a mystery to many voters, with 54 percent saying they don’t know enough about him.
