TV weatherman Al Roker is blasting New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio over the decision not to close schools on Thursday.

Roker criticized the mayor in a series of tweets.  At one point he wrote the long range forecast for de Blasio is "1 term."

When de Blasio argued the snow moved in "faster and earlier than expected," Roker responded, "Forecast was on time and on the money."

The mayor said he's comfortable with the decision making.  He added that he respects Roker, but said "It's a different thing to run a city than to give the weather on TV."

Roker got the last word with another tweet.

"Mr. Mayor, I could never run NYC, but I know when it's time to keep kids home from school," he said.

New York City public schools have closed only 11 times since 1978.
