Police are looking at whether speed played a role in the crash that killed 5 people on the southern State Parkway.

The single car accident Saturday night killed the driver, Myriam Lebrun, her mother Marie Rose Yolande Moise and her three children, Marquis Jeanty, Marcel Jeanty and Kayla Jeanty.

Newsday reports that police are also investigating whether alcohol played a role in the crash.

Lebrun’s car veered off the roadway in North Babylon, crashed into a tree and erupted in flames.

Relatives say Lebrun had a few drinks at a family party, but they didn’t think she was intoxicated.
